OptiTap® Drop Assemblies

Category Overview

OptiTap® Drop Assemblies are used to connect outside plant distribution terminals to subscriber locations in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. These assemblies provide hardened SC/APC interfaces for outdoor subscriber connections and are available in toneable or dielectric cable types. They support aerial, buried, and conduit installations and are used for subscriber turn-ups, network expansion, and maintenance work. Assemblies are supplied in multiple lengths to support different routing requirements in the outside plant.

Self-Supporting Flat Drop Cable Assemblies are used in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks to connect distribution terminals to subscriber locations. These assemblies support aerial, buried, and conduit installations and are available in toneable and dielectric versions. Flat drop is typically chosen when long aerial spans require a messenger or when lower material cost is a priority. Its wider, heavier profile provides added stability in certain outside plant placements and remains familiar to many field crews with established installation practices. Assemblies are available with OptiTap®, SC, LC (UPC/APC), or Pushlok® connectors and may be supplied stubbed for splicing or pre-terminated on one or both ends for direct connection.
ROC™ Drop Cable Assemblies use Corning ROC™ cable with FastAccess™ Technology for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments. The gel-free construction and FastAccess™ jacket allow quicker cable preparation compared to traditional flat drop designs. These assemblies support aerial, buried, and conduit installations and are selected when easy handling, compact routing, or gel-free preparation provides an installation advantage. The lightweight round profile is preferred in conduit, buried, and façade routes where flat drop is less efficient. Toneable and dielectric versions are available, and assemblies come with OptiTap®, SC, LC (UPC/APC), or Pushlok® connectors. They may be supplied stubbed for splicing or pre-terminated on one or both ends for direct connection
